About Me
I have always loved words. I was already reading when I began first grade, and I’ve never stopped.
I went to college after high school, but life intervened and I didn’t earn my first degree (BS Business Administration) until I was quite a few years into an accounting career.
My second degree (MEd TESOL) and career were in teaching English. I loved teaching international students in the Intensive English Programs at North Seattle College and Edmonds Community College and especially enjoyed teaching grammar and writing.
In March 2017, I went into Peace Corps service as an English instructor in Albania where I lived and worked for two years.
In the process of teaching writing, I corrected errors on thousands of papers, so becoming a freelance editor when I returned to the US felt like the perfect next step. To add the seal of professionalism to my new career, I earned an Editing Certification from the University of Washington in 2020.
In addition to editing, I also get excited about traveling (road trips and just about anywhere overseas!), writing, and reading.
